This site is designed to help keen shore anglers,Be they estuary specialists Surf Casters or lure chucker’s or whatever you like to call yourselves to be successful where many anglers have failed and taught the fish bad habits.If fish are as dumb as scientists tell me, why do they have such a well paying job trying to make invisible?
I began fishing as a 3yr old chasing mullet in a estuary and eating more bread BAIT than dad could rig up on our bamboo poles,(the best rod a kid can get, so uncomplicated it’s not funny). As I grew so did my hunger, not for bait but for information, knowledge and skill. I wanted the EDGE. I was over returning empty handed, but not over the fishing. So I studied and found more information to help me.
When I was a teen I was seen Surf Casting by the west Auckland champion competition caster. He took me under his arm and taught me his tricks, (more food for the hunger). My longest cast to date is on 12pd line out to 170mts. More on casting later. See CASTING TIPS

The number one rule for successful fishing is”FISH WHERE THE FISH ARE!” the earth is covered by 70% water. Fish do not occupy this vast area but people still seem to think that if they have a wet line they have a chance. This is true. But they stand a better chance doing some research and finding out the habitat of their prey, and the availability of the food source they in turn chase in that habitat. No food no fish.
